Persephone - Grassetti Art Challenge

This piece was done as a submission for Raphael Grassetti's Character Art Challenge. The theme of the contest was "Underworld" and I wanted to do my own interpretation of Persephone from Greek mythology. Although it was meant to to symbolize that iconic figure I expanded the design past some of the traditional Greek designs and go into a more fantastical realm. I wanted to have Her as a demon queen ruler of the Underworld. Unfortunately, it was not selected as one of the finalists but I am very proud of the way it turned out. It was a great experience working along side some amazing artists. Congrats to all those that participated and I tip my hat to all those that made it into the finals.
